Blooming 12x12 Layout by Guest DT Netra Bates

Hey everyone Netra here.

I have created a Layout using some products from
Limor Webber Designs store.
I decided to go with bright girly colors and lots of added interests.

I hope you enjoy the step by step !

Step 1
I am going to create a scrapped layer of white gesso using a Popsicle stick.
I do this about 2 times to cover the enter 12 x 12.

Step 2
After that dries, I add some Gelatos in Guava and Metallic Mint.
I just do stripes of each color across the gesso. Then I used water to "melt" the color.

 Step 3
Now for some texture. Since I am addicted to the Glass Bead Glitter Gel
It would only be right to add that next ;) Its dries clear on its own...but if you add a colored medium
you can change the color. It still glitters and still holds its awesome texture.

So, I mixed it with the Bonjour Butter Flat Shot from Lindy Stamp Gang.
I added using the same Popsicle technique and the Gesso.

Step 4
Now, Its time to layer some paper and other textiles.
 I used a combination of
Prima Resist canvas in 12 x 12 fabric, paper, and lace.
I cut each in strips of different lengths.
I colored the Resist canvas strips with Merci Beaucoup Mint, Chateau Rose and Bonjour Butter Flat Shot's from Lindy's Stamp Gang.
Now I am staggering the strips to create a "wall" so to speak.

 Step 5
Now we need a "floor" of flowers and such. I used some Prima flowers
and some chipboard pieces from my stash.

Step 6
Now for some bold shapes. I decided to break up the linear love we have going on
with some circles. I used some chipboard circles from my stash.
You can also use shaped charms from the store HERE are super cute one that would compliment this
"Wall" and "floor" layering in this layout.
That would be a nice transition form the lines.
Oh, I painted my Circles White.

 Step 7
Now for a contrasting color.
You could use any dark color really. Black, or a dark Blue .
I wanted to use gray.
I took some Faber Castell Chalk board paint and added some gesso to it and watered it down.

I then dripped it from high points on the LO and low points.
You can see where I added this mixtures near the lace and the circles.

Each time you add this mixture in different spots add a little more water to it.
It lightens the color.

You see how it get lighter as you move to the left of my layout ? I like that look.

Step 8
More Glass Bead Glitter Gel mixed with white gesso. I added it to the "corners" of the layers.

Here I added some picture hanging nails.
I love the mix of the feminine flowers and hardware.
I also added some Prima BLING !!!

For the photo I decided to fussy cut my
subjects and plant them in the
 flowers. I love doing this.

Here is my final project. I hope you all like it !
